Printing update, DrivethruRPG, etc

You should all have a link to the PDF in your inboxes - twice, as it turns out, as I uploaded the files wrong. Don’t worry - both the Spire RPG and Core Book are the same file. We’ve also uploaded the PDF to DrivethruRPG and distributed a code for you all to download it through them - we know that a lot of you use it as an online library for your games, so we wanted to make sure that you include Spire in it.  

AUDIO AND MAPS  

We’ve also sent out DRM-free files of the seven Tabletop Audio environmental tracks and high resolution images of the maps of the Spire and Underspire, so please enjoy them! My favourite is The Hatchery, on account of a) the skittering and b) the lullabies. Those of you who don’t have access to the DRM-free files can still listen online for free at TabletopAudio.com.  

PRINTER UPDATE, SLIPCOVER  

We have paid the printers - Belmont - and we’re all set up to go for the print run. At present, the standard edition is complete and sent off (and we’ve changed all the errors you spotted, thanks for sending them in); the art for the special edition slipcover is currently being done by Adrian who’s extending the scene from the cover image into a double spread.  

Also, Tim has sent over (work-in-progress) images of the printed endpapers for the special edition, which I think you’ll agree is beautiful:

PDFs released!

Check your inbox - you should have the PDF now! (Apologies if you get it twice, we messed up the distribution a little bit. Don't worry - there's no different between the files.)

Also, we've confirmed that we're going to be printing the physical copies with Belmont, and we're aiming to get the print-ready files to them by the end of the week. We'll keep you updated as and when we know more.

Pre-orders close tomorrow: make sure your address is correct!

Tomorrow - that's February 28th at 6pm UK time (11am CST) - we'll shut off the pre-orders, finalise your info, and charge your cards for any additional purchases or add-ons you've made. Please please please make sure your addresses are correct - one of the biggest problems we've faced over our past Kickstarters is inaccurate addresses. 

Also, if you're entitled to an art print, you'll need to pick one out! I've sent an email to everyone who is, but just in case you've missed it, I felt it was best to remind you again. Log into backerkit, go to View Confirmation, then Edit Add-Ons, and pick out a print from there.

The core PDF is all ready and we're raring to go - it looks great, and we're so excited to share it with you. Alina is currently working away on the sourcebooks and campaign frames; first up is an updated Blood and Dust released as a pay-what-you-want download, followed by Black Magic which contains full rules for Blood Witches, Demonology, and other horrible things.

We'll release the PDF through Backerkit and make it available for purchase through our store's website on Wednesday. By the end of the week, we will have sorted out distribution through DriveThruRPG, and we'll send you a code that you can redeem there to download a PDF of Spire. Physical books will follow soon after; we'll keep you updated with our progress on that as we go.

Please update your address for Spire! 

If you've moved, that is. Don't worry if you haven't. We're closing the pre-orders in five days - that's Wednesday 28th - and releasing the PDF of the book at the same time. That means you need to make sure we've got the right address for you on our backerkit, otherwise we'll send your book (and/or newspaper clippings) to the wrong place, and that'd be a terrible thing to happen.

Go to our backerkit here if you need to amend any details.

In other news, we're at the finishing touches stage - just getting everything squared away, remembering to design a character sheet and stick it in the book, that sort of thing. Everything should be good to go for Wednesday!

RELEASE DATE! Also: pre-orders are closing!

We're happy to announce that we have an official release date for the PDF of Spire; we'll be sending it to all of you on February the 28th. At that point, we'll start the printing process, and hopefully all physical copies should be reaching you by late March or early April - barring any unexpected hiccups.

We're really happy to be (pretty much) on schedule; it's always hard for independent creators like us to keep things moving, but we'd like to extend an huge thank you to everyone involved in the production of the book - Adrian Stone, for the illustrations, Harry Goldstone for proofreading, Alina Sandu for layout and design and Mary Hamilton for copy-editing and going through the text with a fine-tooth comb. Your efforts have made this possible, and we couldn't do it without you!

This means that, on February the 28th, we'll close pre-orders, so:

1) Please update your address on Backerkit if it's changed (or might change in the near future) to make sure we send it out to the correct place. If you're in the process of moving or looking to move soon, we recommend using the address of a family member or friend who's staying put and can pass the game onto you.

2) If you want to increase your pledge, or share the shiny new pre-order page with your wealthy and/or influential friends, do it now! Here's a link to the new page which features a load of Adrian's beautiful artwork as well as details on all the classes you'll have access to.
